Stone and spine
A bare Sword bench makes the stone sword and the spine blade. Struck on rock, the stone sword throws sparks that light tinder and fuses, and it shoves a creature back furthest. The spine blade is the limb cutter: a committed swing takes an arm or a leg in one cut.
Copper, the storm sword
Set the honing post on the bench and it makes copper swords. A copper sword holds a charge. Raise it under open sky in a thunderstorm and lightning comes down into the blade, and hard blows on stone, earth or timber and hits on creatures fill it too. A charged blade glows. Hold the trigger and swing hard to fling a bolt that stuns what it hits and jumps on to others nearby.
Iron and hot iron
The temper trough, set on after the post, opens the iron sword. Hold its blade in a torch, a campfire, a smelter or the forge and it heats from dark red to white within seconds, lighting your way. A hot blade cuts deeper and sets what it hits burning, and each searing blow adds to the burn. Every blow it lands also spends some of the heat, the harder the more. It cools off after a while, or at once in water.
TipAny fire will do, a torch too. Hold the blade back in the flames between fights.
Plasma blade
The plasma coil, set on after the trough, opens the plasma blade. It is a hilt with a long lit blade, and it comes back to your hand when you call it. See Plasma weapons.
