Weapons and combat

Bow and arrows

Take the string with your free hand to nock an arrow, draw back and let go.

Draw the bow and loose an arrow; it hits a Hollow.

Shoot

Arrows come from your belt pocket first, then your holsters, then the pack. Make more at the Bow table.

  1. Hold the bow in one hand and bring the other hand to its string.
  2. Pull that hand's trigger to nock an arrow. There is none on the bow until you reach for it.
  3. Draw back and let go of the trigger to shoot. A fuller draw shoots harder.
Nock an arrow, pull the string back and aim.
Nocking, drawing and shooting the stave bow.

Venom arrows

Coat plain arrows with a venom sac at the Alchemist's table. They draw like any other arrow. Every venom arrow adds to the poison, and a poisoned creature glows green.

A stronger bow

The Bow table presses the stave bow. Set its sinew binder on and you can reinforce a stave bow with bone, glowseeds and sinew.

Pulling arrows out

Arrows that stick in the ground, a tree or a creature stay there for a while. Close an empty hand on the shaft and tug it free to use it again. Arrows lying on the ground stay still. Some snap on impact or as you pull them out, and burst into splinters.

Arrows stick in trees; grab the shaft and pull it out.
An arrow stuck in a Hollow can be pulled out again.
