Getting started

Settings and comfort

Settings on the pack edge change how you move, see and carry. Everything is yours to pick.

Moving

Under Comfort, Move you choose whether the stick walks you where your head looks or where a controller points, and whether running stops when you stop. Left-handed play swaps the move stick and the watch wrist. Collisions sets what your held tools and weapons bump into: everything, only enemies, or just your own two.

What you see

Comfort, View holds snap or smooth turning, how far or fast it turns, and the vignette that darkens the edge of your view while you move. You can also choose how a hit shows, how strong lightning flashes, and how dark unlit places look, from pitch black to visible.

Your body

Comfort, Body sets your height, lets you play seated and measures you again with Recalibrate. It also holds Holster fit, Swap by hand and the choice of holsters following your body or your gaze. See Holsters.

Graphics and hits

The Graphics tab sets how far each level of terrain detail reaches, and has a button for what runs best on your headset. Its second page changes the colour of the cubes a hit spills and turns hit numbers on or off.

Bare hands

Put the controllers down and hand tracking takes over: curl a hand to grip, pinch to pull the trigger, and open your left palm for the menu.

TipIf you get caught in the ground, I'm stuck under Comfort, Move frees you onto safe ground and keeps your things.
